Terms & Conditions

Last updated 10 Oct 2026. Includes Grievance Officer details.

In shortOneCourt gives you drafting and tracking tools for Indian courts. They are aids, not legal advice and not the official court record. Always check against the court's own records before you file or rely on anything. Use the Services lawfully, keep your sign-in safe, and reach our Grievance Officer (section 12) with any complaint.

1.Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website onecourt.in, its sub-domains (including nclat.onecourt.in and app.onecourt.in), and every tool, calculator, cause-list viewer, document generator, case tracker, alert and notification service offered on them (together, the "Services"). The Services are operated by OneCourt ("OneCourt", "we", "us"), an independent legal-technology project based in India.

By accessing or using the Services, requesting access, or signing in, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. It is generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signature. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you use the Services for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it.

2.What OneCourt is, and what it is not

OneCourt provides software tools for lawyers, litigants and court staff in India: document generators (filing index, affidavit, cover page, vakalatnama, office report on limitation, proforma for first listing), a court holiday planner, cause-list viewers for the Supreme Court of India and the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), bare-act and judgment look-ups, and a case tracker with listing and order alerts.

Not legal advice. Not a law firm. Not a court service. OneCourt does not practise law, does not provide legal advice and does not create an advocate-client relationship with you. OneCourt is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Supreme Court of India, the NCLAT, the National Company Law Tribunal, the Delhi High Court, the e-Courts project, the National Informatics Centre or any other court, tribunal or government body. Court names are used only to identify the public records the tools relate to.

Outputs are drafts and aids. A document produced by a OneCourt tool must be checked, completed and settled by a qualified advocate or the filing party against the applicable rules, practice directions and the court's own record before it is filed or relied upon.

3.Access, accounts and sign-in

  • Invite-only access. Some Services require sign-in. Access is by approval. We may approve, refuse, suspend or withdraw access at our discretion, with or without notice, including for misuse or inactivity.
  • Passwordless sign-in. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. Anyone who controls that mailbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure. You are responsible for all activity under your sign-in.
  • Accurate information. Details you provide (email address, case numbers, party names, drafts) must be accurate and yours to provide.
  • One person, one sign-in. Do not share or resell access, or let others use your sign-in link.
  • Notify us. Tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised use of your access.

4.Acceptable use

As required by Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 ("IT Rules, 2021"), you must not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or share any information, and must not use the Services, to:

  1. belong to another person, or impersonate another person (including an advocate, party, officer or court), where you have no right to do so;
  2. submit content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, relating to or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise unlawful;
  3. harm minors in any way;
  4. infringe any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
  5. violate any law for the time being in force, including any order of a court;
  6. deceive or mislead the addressee about the origin of a message, or communicate information that is patently false, untrue or misleading in nature, or that is identified as false or misleading by the Fact Check Unit of the Central Government where applicable;
  7. present a generated document as an official court record or order;
  8. threaten the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or cause incitement to any cognisable offence or prevent investigation of any offence, or insult any other nation;
  9. contain software viruses or any code designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource.

You also must not:

  • bypass, defeat or automate any CAPTCHA, rate limit, access control or other security measure on our Services or on a court's website. Where a feature relays a court's CAPTCHA to you, you must solve it yourself and in good faith;
  • scrape, crawl, mirror or bulk-download the Services, or use them to build a competing database, except through an interface we publish for that purpose;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Services, or interfere with their operation or other users' access, including by overloading them;
  • use the Services to send unsolicited commercial communications, or to collect personal information of others without lawful basis;
  • reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where law permits despite this restriction.

OneCourt does not publish user content to the public. Your drafts and inputs are processed only for you (see the Privacy Policy). If we learn that you have breached this section, we may remove or disable the content, suspend your access and, where the law requires, preserve records and report to the authorities.

As required by Rule 3(1)(c) of the IT Rules, 2021, we inform you at least once a year that if you do not comply with these Terms or the law, we may terminate your access or remove non-compliant information.

5.Court data and third-party sources

Cause lists, case statuses, orders, judgments, holiday calendars and bare acts shown by the Services come from public sources such as the Supreme Court of India, the NCLAT, the Delhi High Court, the Government of India and other official websites. We retrieve, parse, reformat and, in some cases, re-order that data (for example, showing a cause list in hearing order using the court's display-board sequence).

  • Not the official record. The data may be delayed, incomplete, mis-parsed or out of date, and courts may amend or cancel a listing at any time, including after publishing. The court's own website, notice board and order sheet are the only authoritative source. Do not rely on OneCourt alone for limitation, filing deadlines, appearance or listing.
  • Alerts are best-effort. Email or other alerts can fail, arrive late or arrive in error. Do not treat the absence of an alert as the absence of a listing or order.
  • Court websites' own terms. Court websites have their own terms of use and may change, throttle or block access without notice. Some features may stop working when they do.
  • Personal data in court records. Public court records can name parties, advocates and other individuals. We take reasonable steps to omit contact details of advocates and litigants from what we store (for example, advocates' phone numbers and emails that appear on some cause lists). Use any such data only for your professional or personal case-related purposes and in line with law and with court directions on anonymity and confidentiality.

6.Documents you generate

Document generators run in your browser. The text you type and the files you open are used to produce your document on your own device and are not sent to us unless a feature expressly says so.

  • You own your drafts and the documents you generate. You grant us no licence to them.
  • You are responsible for their contents, accuracy, formatting and compliance with the Supreme Court Rules, 2013, the Code of Civil Procedure, the practice directions and any rule that applies to your filing.
  • Where an advocate uses the tools for a client, the advocate remains professionally responsible to the client and the court, including under the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules.
  • Templates and sample text are aids only, and may not suit your matter.

7.Intellectual property

The OneCourt name, logo, design, software, layouts, templates and our own text are owned by or licensed to OneCourt and are protected by the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and other laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Services for your own professional or personal use, subject to these Terms.

Judgments, orders, statutes and similar public documents belong to their respective authorities and are used under the applicable public-domain and fair-dealing principles. Third-party marks belong to their owners. If you believe content on the Services infringes your rights, write to the Grievance Officer (section 12) with details of the work, the location of the alleged infringement and your claim of ownership.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without obligation to you.

8.Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Services or any output, alert or data will be accurate, complete, timely, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that they suit your particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OneCourt and the people who run it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, data, opportunity or limitation, arising from or connected with your use of or inability to use the Services, including any missed hearing, missed deadline, wrong listing, dismissal, adverse order, costs or professional liability that follows from relying on a Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Services in the three months before the claim and ₹1,000. This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

10.Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless OneCourt from claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of law or the rights of a third party, or the content you submit or generate through the Services.

11.Suspension, termination and changes to the Services

You may stop using the Services at any time and ask us to delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, particularly for breach of these Terms. We may change, limit or discontinue any Service or feature, with or without notice. We are not liable to you for doing so. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law) will survive.

Where we remove or disable access to content or an account because it breaches these Terms, we will tell the affected user of the action and the reason, unless law prevents us.

12.Grievance Officer and complaints

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, Rule 3(2) of the IT Rules, 2021, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the name and contact details of our Grievance Officer are:

  • Send your complaint by email (or post) and state your name, contact details, the Service and page concerned, the content or conduct complained of, and what you want us to do.
  • We will acknowledge the complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receipt.

Government agencies and courts may send lawful orders and notices to the same contact. Notices under Section 79(3)(b) of the IT Act must come from the appropriate Government or its authorised agency, or by a court order, and must identify the unlawful act and where it appears.

13.Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting formal proceedings, please first write to the Grievance Officer so we can try to resolve the matter in good faith for 30 days. Subject to that, the courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services.

14.General

  • Changes. We may update these Terms. We will change the "last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice on the Services or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
  • Notices. We may notify you by email to the address you signed in with, or by posting on the Services.
  • Severability and waiver. If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and OneCourt about the Services.
  • Language. The English version controls.
